Raffle basket - part IV and Blog Give A Way Winner

I really do enjoy giving little treats. As my aunt would say, "it's all in the delivery". Being a SU demonstrator makes it so easy to package even the simplest things and make it extraordinary. The last gift for the raffle basket is a sweet treat. I don't know about you, but I LOVE snacking on something sweet when I am working on projects. That could explain the extra "baggage" that seems to follow me where ever I go, if you know what I mean :)! Yummy huh? I am actually quite proud of it. The inside note is the Rules of Chocolate.

On another note, I want to thank everyone who participated in my blog give a way and left such sweet comments. I used random.org to pick a winner for me, and .... Patti is the winner!

I had a chance to visit each participant's blog, and am now following them. You should check them out too. Really cute stuff posted there.

Short post today. Just wanted you to see one of the other gifts in the raffle basket. I don't know about you, but I am always looking for something to write on. Funny thing is, being a paper crafter, I AM A PAPER FANATIC! Go figure!! I love paper, but sometimes I tend to hoard it for something special. That being said, I thought it was about time I did something with these little scratch pads. What do you think?

I have one more raffle gift to show tomorrow.

Ink: Real Red, Rose Redl, Chocolate Chip

Stamped Tile

On Monday, I attended Debi Kyle's technique class. AMAZING!!! She is one talented lady. Not only do I enjoy her friendship, but I love picking her brain as well. She comes up with awesome projects and I LOVE how she can take something simple and turn it into something SPECTACULAR!!!

This particular class we created a card, party favor for Valentine's Day and this beautiful tile. I have seen so many tile projects on other craft blogs and wanted to try them, but wasn't quite sure just how to do it. It was so SIMPLE! I love the end result and can't wait to make more.

If you would like the directions, comment on my blog and I will email you the directions.

Wedding Anniversay Invitation

Since the beginning of this year I have faithfully started attending church again. I admit, I am a slacker for going to church. Come Sunday mornings, I can find every excuse for not attending. This year, when I attended our annual Candlelight Communion service, I realized during that beautiful service it was time to get my relationship with the Lord back on track and how much I missed our pastor and his wife, actually my whole church family. I have attended Christ Center Fellowship for approximately 25 years. The church is built on the property my grandmother was raised on. Since her death, I realized there was a part of me that I hadn't let God heal, actually I was a little mad at him for taking her away. She was a HUGE part in my life and I miss her terribly. During communion, my pastor made a comment about her singing with the angels and rejoicing in heaven now. Even though I knew that, the visual image I had when he said those words made me want to grow my relationship with the Lord so much more.

My church family is so special. It is a small congregation which I love. Even though it had been years since I last attended, they have been so welcoming. Some of my grandmother's dear friends are still there. I basically grew up with them as I attended functions with my grandmother when I was small. I am finding that as I grow and mature, their being seasoned Christians are comforting to me.

This year is special as my pastor and his wife will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Next Sunday they are planning to renew their vows and we have the privilige of celebrating with them. Several members of the congregation have made special gifts to give them. Since they didn't have an actual wedding, I decided to make invitations to document this special day. I can't take full credit for the design as I CASED it from Studio on Eight. I just changed the colors and wording. Nevertheless, it turned out beautiful.

What do you think? I hope they like it.

January 2011 Stamp Club

My peeps and I had a great time at our monthly Stamp Club. Our projects consisted of one card, an 8 x 8 scrapbook layout and a treat box, all geared toward Valentine's Day and using the Filled With Love Bundle that was a special a few weeks back. Although the group was small, we had a wonderful time. It was nice to finish our projects and then enjoy a cup of tea and visit with one another. That is one of many things I enjoy so much about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. I have met some truly wonderful people over the years and look forward to spending time with them.

Debi Kyle, Leticia Canet and I enjoying great conversation and tea.

The mess we made!

Completed projects.

This is Penny, our rescue dog. She loves it when I have my stamp club. I was working on some things in my scrap room and heard a funny noise coming from the kitchen. She made herself at home waiting patiently for the stampers to come. I think she missed Hope.

If you would like to make projects like these, you are welcome to join us if you live in our area or you can order the supplies online at my Stampin' Up! website. Customers that place online orders will receive the printed cutting guides in PDF format and a free gift from me!

Me, over commit ...Seriously??!!!

Well, I think my title says it all. I consider myself to be the QUEEN of over committing. Dictionary.com defines over commit as - to commit more than is feasible, desirable or necessary. Yep, I think that about sums it up!! What can I say, I am a people-pleaser. I kinda like it though. I think I function best being under my own time restrictions.

During my blog hiatus (Christmas and New Year), I have managed to find time to do several fun and interesting projects. I LOVE PROJECTS!!! But first, a few photos of my family and our Christmas. On Christmas Eve I came down with an awful sore throat and spent most of Christmas weekend in bed.

After our enjoyable Christmas and New Year, my first project was to help my dear friend Karen make her wedding invitations. What a treat that was. She and I have been friends for well over 16 years and compliment each other so well. We have raised our kids together, been through so much together, taken Thelma and Louise vacations, you name it. When she asked me to help her make the invitations, I was honored, especially when we were working on them, she asked me to stand up for her. YOU BETCHA!!

She found an invitation online, but switched it up a bit and here's what we came up with.

What do you think? I would love to get feedback from you.
