Christmas Photos 2009

Well, I spent most of the day cleaning the house, especially my office/scraproom. During the holidays it was the "command center, catch-all, wrapping center, etc". What a mess! I took a large contractor garbage bag full of stuff out of here. I am happy to announce that at the moment it looks pretty good. During my cleaning frenzy, I was able to download my Christmas photos and must admit they are pretty good. I am anxious to get busy scrapbooking. Hopefully I can get back on track with my Fridays to scrapbook with friends.

Nanny's Christmas Gift

Wow, it has been sometime since I have updated my blog. The holidays sure are time consuming. I wanted so much to spend time crafting, but like every year, I was running around like a mad woman. I did have enough time to make this album for my mother-in-law. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

10-10-10 Card Club Kick-Off "Sneak Peak"

Several of my friends have talked about having a day just for us to stamp/scrapbook, etc. so starting Friday, August 28, 2009 @ 10:00 am. I am planning a 10-10-10 Card Club. We'll be learning new techniquest, sampling new products and having MUCH NEEDED GIRLFRIEND TIME.

Details are: The event will begin at 10:00 am. We will be making at least 10 cards/projects. I will be supplying all paper products, so you will just need to bring your adhesive and cutter. The cost is $10.00 ($1.00 for each card you make). Please make sure to RSVP as I will be serving breakfast/brunch and want to have plenty of materials ready for you. Also, if you have a friend that would like to join us, please bring them along and receive a little something from me.

What A Wonderful Day!

Yesterday, (Saturday, July 18, 2009) I attended a card class at Debbi Acampa's house (a/k/a my new BFF). It was wonderful. She is sooooo talented and beautifully sweet. She spent about an hour with me going over some of the new Stampin' Up! stuff. After looking at the items and actually using some of the items I don't have, I have decided they are a must have. I appreciate her advice and her willingness to share her experiences with me.

Some of her card class buddies stopped by and we worked on our projects. It was a great day of fellowship. Attached is a photo of what we made.

Finished Project

I finished my note card project and am very happy with the way it turned out. I used the new Designer Paper Razzelberry Lemonade. Right now, this is my favorite paper. I love the bright colors.

Now to get my room cleaned up before my cousin and aunt come over the scrapbook.

July 4th Weekend

What a great 4th of July weekend I had.

Friday started off with a used, but new to me tractor for our barn. We are calling her "Gertrude". She is a little rough around the edges, but runs great. It is going to make barn chores much more manageable.

Saturday we spent most of the day working around the barn with our "Gertrude". Each of us took turns, however my turn was spent "hopping" around. I haven't quite gotten the gas and clutch figured out, but no worries, I am soon to be a pro. I did happen to manage reverse very well, as can be seen in the photo.

Sunday, was the best day of all. I got to SCRAPBOOK THE WHOLE DAY!! I haven't gotten to scrapbook in such a long time. It was wonderful. Hopefully I can have a few more days like this and get some more layouts done. I am anxious to use some of the new Stampin' Up Designer Paper and other goodies I received.

Kody's Eighteenth Birthday

On Saturday, June 27, we celebrated my son Kody's eighteenth birthday. I can't believe how the time flies by. One minute I have this adorable baby in my arms, then the next minute I am staring at this grown young man, wishing I could go back in time somehow.

The party was a huge success and everyone seemed to enjoyed themselves. During the birthday song and cake, I broke down and cried. I felt like such a goof, but my family and friends know me well and just let me cry. Most of them said "it is because you realize how old you really are".

My sweet little boy

Wow, how time flies. I can't believe it has been so long since I have posted to my blog. I have been working alot lately and realize I am so far behind.

I spent last weekend working on the invitations to my son Kody's eighteenth birthday party. I am really happy with the way they turned out.

Day of Scrappin'

FUMC Crop

The last Friday of every month a group of us get together to work on our scrapbooks. I either hold a crop here at my house or I attend one at the First United Methodist Church of Brandon. I am grateful to the other girls for inviting me to their church. I always have a great time. This Friday, there were only 5 of us. My friends Wendy and Betsy brought in their books and showed some pretty interesting things. Betsy purchased these really neat page protectors that I am anxious to get my hands on. I am hoping it will help me get my books caught up. Wendy brought in some adorable pages that she found at our local scrapbook store that are pre-made. She mixes in her homemade pages and has completed some of the most beautiful books. These kits are also on my must have list. My friend and neighbor Kim amazes me. She was able to complete I believe an entire 8 X 8 book in what seemed like minutes.

I helped my friend Joy make hostess gifts, that turned out wonderful. I wanted to keep one myself. I did manage to get four layouts done of my kids when they were little.

My Garden

Last weekend I planted my annual garden. It is small, but I love that feeling of "getting back to nature." I only wish I had more space to plant a bigger one. Hopefully I can enjoy some delicious tomatos and peppers.

Sara and Khandi Bey

For our family and friends, this is a current photo of Sara and her horse Khandi Bey.

Licensed to Drive

On February 27, 2009, my son Kody finally got his driver's license. It took him until he was almost 18 before he was ready to get it.

Hello

Ok, I must admit, I am so green with envy at all of the other adorable blogs, that I had to try this blogging thing myself. Unfortunately, I am challenged and a little out of touch when it comes to what is "in", especially when it has something to do with computers and technology. Just when I figure out a blog, darned if everyone is now on Facebook. Oh well, I will get there too some day. For now I am happy to share my photos and crafts with my family and friends.
