Girl's Night Slumber Party

On Saturday, January 30, 2010 my aunt Becky invited me to a girl's night scrapbook slumber party to celebrate my cousin Heather's birthday. I was so excited because it has been at least 5 years since we all got together for an all night scrapbooking fest! We stayed up until the wee hours of the morning, scrapbooking and remembering all of the adorable things that our children have done in the past years. It was such an enjoyable time for us all to escape and be with each other without the interruptions of what I'd like to call "life." (Not that I don't love my life, but we could all use a break!) My cousin Heather turned 38 this year, and when we sat down to get started, I found out that Heather had 600 or so pictures to scrapbook... for one year.

My aunt Becky is a lot like Martha Stewart, and I admire her greatly for that. She made all of the food herself, including some mini hamburgers that we all call 'slammers.' Goat cheese salad was on the menu, and for desert, drool-worthy crepes, topped with blueberries, strawberries and some kiwi.

We did end up having one party crasher that night, my uncle Bill (more affectionately known as Bum to my kids and I.) He was supposedly going to stay in aunt Becky's RV so we could have our all exclusive girls' night, but he chickened out last minute! Although, he promised to stay out of the way for the night and only made a few appearances.
